Also known as Chilean Seabass or 鳕鱼, it is a premium species wild-caught from the deep ocean.
It is highly sought after, due to the high level of Omega-3 fatty-acids which comes with many health benefits as well as its uniquely soft and buttery meat, making it extremely popular for children's consumption.
It is also high in protein and low in fat.
The high price is due to the limited harvesting set to prevent extinction in line with the sustainability policy.
We will be weighing it together with the bone as we do not sell bones separately.
We can remove the middle bone for you and pack it separately too.
Basically, we use one large steak and fillet it, then weigh it together with the middle bone at $60/kg. When we separate the middle bone, it is $80/kg
You can use the bones to cook soup/make broth.
Note: The product is imported fresh-frozen to maintain its freshness. Thaw the required portion and keep the rest frozen for uncompromised quality.
Cod has four sections, and two sections in particular that have minimal to no fine bones, while the other two sections do. The two sections with minimal/less fine bones is the tail (~400g) and the section right above the tail (1 kg).
